1. Primary Materials (Eco-Centric Composition)

These cartons rely on recycled fiber-dominant materials (70-90% recycled content) paired with minimal virgin fibers for structural integrity, all adhering to circular economy standards:

  • Recycled paper fibers: Sourced from post-consumer waste (used cartons, newspapers, office paper) and post-industrial scraps. They undergo eco-friendly sorting, cleaning, and deinking to remove plastics, metals, and ink residues.
  • Virgin wood fibers (10-30%): Derived from FSC-certified sustainably managed forests, they boost tensile strength and shock absorption for heavy-duty applications.
  • Starch-based adhesive: A biodegradable bonding agent (corn/potato starch) replaces synthetic glues, ensuring full compostability and non-toxicity.

All materials are 100% recyclable and free of harmful chemicals, aligning with global sustainability benchmarks.

2. Step-by-Step Manufacturing Process

The production process prioritizes energy efficiency and waste reduction, following five core stages:

  1. Pulp Preparation: Recycled and virgin fibers are mixed with water in a hydrapulper to form uniform pulp, refined to strengthen fiber bonds and filtered for impurities.
  2. Sheet Formation: Pulp is poured onto a Fourdrinier machine, where water drains through a mesh screen to form linerboard (outer/inner layers) and corrugated medium (wavy middle layer). Sheets are dried and calendered for smoothness.
  3. Corrugation: The medium is shaped into wavy flutes (A/B/C profiles for varying strength) via heated, fluted rollers in a corrugating machine.
  4. Lamination: Starch adhesive is applied to flute peaks, bonding the medium to linerboards under 150-180°C heat and pressure to form corrugated board.
  5. Finishing: Precision die-cutting trims custom sizes; water-based inks (if printed) ensure eco-friendliness. The board is folded, glued, and inspected for strength/sustainability compliance.

This process reuses 90% of process water and recovers fiber residues, minimizing environmental impact while delivering durable packaging.
